What if I don’t vote in the 22 states mentioned above?
If your state does not require a mailed-in ballot, you can vote electronically by fax, email, or online. Be sure to read the rules for your state as each state is different. Check out the rules for your state at fvap.gov.
What if I have not received my ballot?
Regardless of state, if you requested an absentee ballot and have not received your ballot by September 26 you should immediately contact your local election office. To find your local election office visit fvap.gov/search-offices.
What if my ballot doesn’t arrive?
If you are a registered voter and requested an absentee ballot but it does not arrive, you can vote by Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB). If you live in one of the mail ballot states above you should drop off your FWAB by Oct. 4.
Can I still register to vote and request an absentee ballot?
Yes. But you should act immediately especially if you vote in one of the 22 states mentioned above. Visit fvap.gov to register or request a ballot.
