Voters in NY, AL, AR need to request an absentee ballot now!

If you vote in New York, Alabama, or Arkansas, you should request an overseas absentee ballot by Sept. 2. These states require that the absentee ballot request be mailed from Mexico. Mail delivery to the U.S. using the embassy mail requires three to four weeks. Both New York and Arkansas also require that you mail your completed ballot. That’s a total of up to eight weeks for mail delivery.

Also, if you plan to vote in California, Florida, Idaho, South Dakota, or Florida — and you are NOT currently registered to vote in those states — you should request your absentee ballot by Sept. 2. Persons registering to vote for the first time in those states are also required to do so by mail. Idaho, South Dakota, and Wisconsin also require that you mail your ballot.

If you have access to a printer, you can use fvap.gov to complete the absentee ballot request form (FPCA) and print it yourself. This is a service of the United States Government.

If you do not have a printer, you can visit our office at Montes Escandinavos 405, Colonia Lomas de Chapultepec. We have the FPCA absentee ballot request forms and can help you complete it.

You can mail your FPCA form, or you can pay to have it delivered by express services such as DHL, UPS, or FedEx. If using express services you should contact your local electio office for the correct mailing address. DO NOT use the Mexican postal service.
